BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Faculty of Arts and Design, Institut Teknologi Bandung (FAD ITB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Indonesian Game Association, held the Gameseed Roadshow Bandung event on Friday (May 23, 2025) at the Design Centre, CADL Building, ITB Ganesha Campus.
This event is part of an effort to support the growth of Indonesia’s game industry while also providing a platform for the creative potential of the younger generation. The event was attended by Dr. Intan Rizky Mutiaz, M.Ds., Vice Dean of Resources at FAD ITB; Luat S.P. Sihombing, Director of Game at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy; Dr. Iendra Sofyan, S.T., M.Si., Head of the West Java Provincial Office of Tourism and Culture; as well as participants of the Gameseed 2025 competition.
Dr. Intan Rizky Mutiaz stated that the game industry is an increasingly relevant medium of creative expression in today’s era. Students play an important role as creators within the national game development ecosystem. “Through interdisciplinary collaboration, students can develop their potential to create games that are not only entertaining, but also educational and socially impactful,” she said.
She explained that FAD ITB has demonstrated its commitment to supporting the game development ecosystem through the Game Design course offered in the Visual Communication Design (DKV) program. This course not only teaches the fundamental concepts of game design but also encourages interdisciplinary collaboration to create innovative games. “Students from various academic backgrounds are invited to work together, explore ideas, and produce new games as a result of an interactive and multidisciplinary learning process,” she said.
As a further step, FAD ITB is also establishing a collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to develop a research collaboration center in the field of game studies. This initiative is expected to strengthen ITB’s contribution to the three pillars of higher education, particularly in research and community service relevant to the digital creative industry.
The Gameseed Roadshow Bandung aims to inspire more young talents to emerge and enrich Indonesia’s game industry with original and high-quality works. This event serves not only as a competition but also as a space for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among stakeholders.
