BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Students from the Visual Art program, Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) batch of 2023 are currently holding an exhibition titled "1... 23!". This exhibition marks the initial step in their creative journey as emerging artists. The exhibition is taking place from May 22 to June 22, 2025, on the 3rd floor of the House of Wisdom and Learning (HOWL), Bandung.

The exhibition showcases the students' artistic explorations and unique personal concepts. The theme, "1... 23!," transcends a mere sequence of numbers; it symbolizes a collective leap and progression for the 2023 FSRD ITB students as they embark on a new phase of their artistic careers.

The exhibition opened on May 22, 2025, followed by an artist talk session where the artists shared their creative processes and the meaning behind their works. Among the pieces on display, Irene Aurelia's oil painting, "Ikatan", visually explores feelings of confinement through the symbolism of a swan trapped at a dining table. Meanwhile, Nura Alijah's painting, "Calico Cat," conveys a sense of loneliness and hope, drawing inspiration from a doll in a claw machine, a metaphor for the longing to be "chosen”.

Afet Bornimar Kresentsyus presented a clay sculpture titled "Gourmet," reflecting on the theme of betrayal. Putri Tirza's "Sudah Kenyang?" invites viewers to contemplate human ego. Sharlin's painting, "Belanja?", poses questions about the relativity of truth, while Keysha Allea Hadi showcased a woodcut graphic depicting the journey of reconciling with the past as a process of self-acceptance and empowerment.

The "1... 23!" exhibition serves as a foundational step for the 2023 visual arts students to establish their identities and introduce their works to both the art community and the general public. Beyond being a space for creative expression, this exhibition underscores their dedication to artistic creation and strengthens collaboration among young artists within the FSRD ITB environment.
