BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Aerospace Engineering Student Association “KMPN Otto Lilienthal” of the Bandung Institute of Technology (KMPN ITB) held the Aerospace Innovation Summit (AIS) 2025 on Saturday and Sunday, April 12–13, 2025, at the Aula Barat, ITB Ganesha Campus. This biennial event aims to introduce the aerospace field to the broader public while providing a platform for innovation and discussion among experts, industry professionals, academics, and the general public.

AIS 2025 featured a series of activities, including the Aerospace Drawing Challenge, Recycle Challenge, Aerospace Innovation Summit Case Competition, Water Rocket Competition, Aero Champions, and a Talk Show.

The Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., remarked that when discussing the earth and sky in the context of Indonesia, the nation consists of one-third land and two-thirds ocean. Meanwhile, the sky encompasses all three-thirds, yet it is rarely a topic of discussion. In today’s context, aerospace technology holds immense significance as it remains an open frontier.

"Opportunities like this—dialogues with key figures and industry players in aerospace—are crucial because students can engage directly, gain insights, draw inspiration, and, hopefully, find the motivation to remain committed to growing and thriving in the aerospace industry," he said.

He also expressed appreciation for the organizing committee and the talk show speakers, comprising prominent figures and aerospace industry representatives who shared their knowledge with students and the public.

Meanwhile, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Dr. Ir. Hermawan Judawisastra, M.Eng., stated that AIS serves as a forum that brings together industry, academia, authorities, regulators, and the general public to deepen their understanding of the aerospace sector.

"We highly encourage students to seize this opportunity to broaden their horizons about the aerospace world, including its various intricacies," he said.
