BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — As the host of the 12th ASEAN+3 Heads of International Relations Meeting 2025, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) welcomed an official laboratory visit by delegates on the second day of the event, Friday, May 9, 2025. The series of visits was held across ITB’s Ganesha and Jatinangor campuses and served as a platform for knowledge exchange and the strengthening of international networks in research, education, and technological innovation among ASEAN+3 countries.

The visit began at the Makers Innovation Space, one of the prime facilities under the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FMAE) ITB. Located in the Production Engineering Laboratory Building, the space serves as a technology-based creativity hub for ITB’s civitas academica. There, the delegates were introduced to a number of student innovations—from an automatic basketball-throwing robot to a prototype of an educational rocket—demonstrating how ITB students combine engineering and creativity to produce real-world solutions.

The delegates also visited the Drug Delivery System Research Institute ITB–Daewoong Foundation, a research facility resulting from a collaboration between ITB and South Korea’s Daewoong Foundation. The institute focuses on pharmaceutical technology development, particularly in making innovative and adaptive drug delivery systems tailored to tackle Indonesia’s healthcare challenges. Research projects at this facility demonstrate how cross-national collaboration can generate meaningful and sustainable public health impacts.

The Ganesha Campus visit xs concluded at the Center for Arts, Design, and Language (CADL). This multidisciplinary facility supports the development of creative and collaborative curricula in the fields of art, design, and language. AUN delegates learned how CADL facilitates cross-disciplinary approaches in answering to the increasingly complex challenges of modern education.
