BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (FMAE ITB), held the “Student Poster and Product Exhibition” at the West Hall on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. This event featured 58 groups from the Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering study programs, aiming to showcase their final project works to the public.
Dean of FMAE ITB, Prof. Dr. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., emphasized the importance of applying knowledge gained during college into the real world. The learning process in class aims to acquire knowledge. This exhibition serves as an opportunity for students to synthesize various concepts they have learned and integrate them into a product.
He stated that FMAE ITB is committed to providing both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience for students. According to him, comprehensive learning requires a combination of theory and practice to guarantee that students are well-prepared to face challenges in the professional world.
The exhibition was attended by students enrolled in several courses, including Engineering Product Design and Prototyping and Aerospace Vehicle Design. In these courses, students were tasked with designing and creating products based on assigned projects, such as factory prototypes, mechanical devices, and aircraft designs.

One of the exhibition participants, M. Husni Mubarok (Mechanical Engineering, 2021), expressed his admiration for the experience he gained during the product development process. “This exhibition left a strong impression on me because we did not just learn theory in class—we were also asked to implement it into genuine products. This process greatly helped me understand how engineering knowledge would be applied in the professional world,” he said.
Through this exhibition, FMAE ITB demonstrated its commitment to producing graduates who not only excel in theoretical concepts but are also able to develop innovations in the form of products that benefit the general public.
