JATINANGOR, itb.ac.id – The research collaboration between Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), GEM Co., Ltd., and Central South University (CSU) through the “China-Indonesia Joint Research Laboratory for New Energy Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Technology” continues to yield significant results. Since the collaboration began, several key achievements have been achieved, including the implementation of the GEM scholarship program, which supports students’ academic and research development.
Last year, a total of 58 ITB students received GEM scholarships, spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, and supporting six strategic research projects. This achievement reflects the close partnership between ITB and GEM.
As an appreciation and continuation of their shared commitment, GEM once again awarded scholarships to ITB students in 2025 at the GEM–ITB–CSU Joint Laboratory, located on the ITB Jatinangor Campus, on Saturday, May 25, 2025.
During the event, the CEO of GEM Co., Ltd., Prof. Xu Kaihua, symbolically handed over the scholarships to ITB Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc., who received them on behalf of ITB. This act symbolized the strengthening of their shared commitment to education and sustainable innovation.
In 2024, the collaboration included the development of a Joint Research Lab for research and education in the fields of new energy materials and metallurgical engineering, the provision of scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate ITB students, and a double degree program at the master’s level between ITB and CSU.
