The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.

During the visit, the two institutions discussed plans to extend their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is scheduled for renewal at the end of 2025.

Bin Yang, Vice Chairman of the Tsinghua University Council, noted that the previous MoU had not yielded optimal results due to the COVID-19 pandemic and various other challenges. Therefore, this visit serves as a crucial momentum to initiate a new chapter of more concrete collaboration between ITB and Tsinghua University.

"The most important thing is how we follow up with real actions. Today marks a good beginning to discuss further details and deepen research collaboration between the two universities," said Bin Yang.

He highlighted two key components in international higher education cooperation: joint degree programs and collaborative research among faculty members. According to him, strong partnerships can only be achieved if faculty from both institutions are actively engaged in research projects aligned with their academic interests.

"ITB and Tsinghua will establish joint degree programs at both the master's and doctoral levels, as well as develop collaborative research involving faculty members with shared academic interests," he stated.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., welcomed the collaboration initiative and emphasized the importance of building a strategic partnership that goes beyond signing an MoU and brings real impact.

Prof. Tata expressed hope that the collaboration would result in tangible programs that contribute to the advancement of science and technology.
