In his speech, Prof. Tata stated that amid the increasingly complex and dynamic challenges of the times, leadership cannot be carried out in isolation. The success of a faculty or school is not solely determined by the capacity of a Dean, but by the cohesion of a strong, solid, and complementary leadership team.

“This is a collaborative effort—a ‘super team’ that collectively thinks strategically, makes decisions, provides solutions, and fosters a healthy and productive academic atmosphere,” he said.

He conveyed that ITB is currently transforming into a Fourth Generation University, an institution that not only excels academically but also serves as a strategic partner in addressing national challenges.

“This vision requires cross-disciplinary work, collaboration that transcends bureaucratic boundaries, and inclusive leadership. This is where the role of Vice Deans becomes crucial—as enablers and connectors in creating synergy at the faculty and school levels,” he explained.

Prof. Tata encouraged the Vice Deans to work together with the Deans as a trusting and mutually supportive team, to build leadership that unlocks potential, serves as a space for dialogue, and fosters an academic atmosphere that is healthy, open, and future-oriented.

At the end of his speech, he quoted an old proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

“Let us move forward together—as a solid, visionary, and collaborative leadership team—for the advancement of our faculties and schools, and for a more excellent and impactful ITB,” he remarked. The inauguration ceremony concluded with a friendly gathering and congratulatory remarks from the attendees.
