ITB Signs Museum Renovation Cooperation Agreement with Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center and Dato' Low Tuck Kwong

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center and Dato' Dr. Low Tuck Kwong. The signing ceremony was held in RAPIM Room A, at the ITB Rectorate Building, on Friday morning (14/11/2025).
This cooperation focuses on a collaboration in the form of a donation for the renovation of the Institut Teknologi Bandung Museum. The agreement was signed directly by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T.; the Chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center, Filda Citra Yusgiantoro, S.T., M.B.M., M.B.A., Ph.D.; and the President Director of PT Bayan Resources, Tbk., Dato' Dr. Low Tuck Kwong.
The event was also witnessed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center, Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro Ir. MSc., MA., PhD., IPU., and the Director of PT Bayan Resources, Tbk., Alexander Ery Wibowo, SH., LLM., JSD.
A Space of Inspiration Across Generations
In his remarks, the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation for the trust given. According to him, this donation holds profound meaning for ITB's history.
"This is tangible proof of the care and love from both gentlemen for ITB's long journey," said Prof. Tata. "We want to immortalize what has happened over the last 105 years to serve as documentation and a lesson for future generations," he added.
The ITB Rector explained that this museum is designed as a "living museum." "A museum that will continue to grow, a living museum not limited to the walls of the Sabuga building alone, but this is a digital museum and will expand to all parts of ITB," he explained.
He hopes this museum can become a space of inspiration that attracts the interest of young people to study Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEM).
A Sustainable Commitment to Education
The Chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center, Filda Citra Yusgiantoro, called this moment "a new beginning of innovation and collaboration in presenting a history."
She also highlighted the figure of Dato' Dr. Low Tuck Kwong as an extraordinary philanthropist. Dato' Low's partnership with ITB has been long-established, starting in 2020 when he provided scholarship donations for students during difficult times. This partnership continued with the inauguration of the Labtek XVII building in his name in 2024.
"In line with our vision, the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center and Dato' Dr. Low Tuck Kwong will remain committed to supporting education in Indonesia," Filda affirmed. Filda hopes the renovation process will proceed smoothly and be completed on time, which is estimated to be finished in 4 months, around March 2026.
