BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) collaborated with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) to organize the West Java Integrated Entrepreneur Hub 2025, held at the West and East Halls of the ITB’s Ganesha Campus on Wednesday-Thursday (September 17-18, 2025). The event featured a public lecture, inspirational talk shows, and an Entrepreneur Expo showcasing selected entrepreneurial works and innovations from West Java. One of the entrepreneurial works on display was that of ITB students, namely Lameloen, an art merchandise brand owned by young entrepreneurs Heni Yunar Larasati (Visual Communication Design, 2022) and Fadillah Ahmad Dhany (Visual Communication Design, 2022).
Lameloen offers a wide range of art merchandise, including stickers, rings, bookmarks, keychains, and art prints. Since its establishment nearly a year ago, the brand has introduced thematic series such as Fish and Star, Farmers Market, and most recently Fish Tank Friends.
In terms of innovation, Lameloen incorporates sustainability in its packaging by using recycled cardboard, paper-based tape, and eco-friendly alternatives to bubble wrap to reduce single-use plastic. Their products are marketed online through platforms such as Shopee and offline by participating in art markets including Comifuro and Omo Market.
One of the main challenges faced by Lameloen is limited initial capital. To address this, they implemented a pre-order system with full payment, allowing funds to be allocated directly to production needs. Regular market research also plays a crucial role in identifying consumer preferences, ensuring that less popular designs are discontinued and replaced with more relevant ones.
As a message to other students looking to start a business, Fadillah emphasizes the importance of having the courage to take the first step. “Don't be afraid to try. Just give it a shot, even if it doesn't succeed right away or even if it's not profitable yet. The key is to find the market first. The path will open up later,” he said.
