BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The ITB Industrial Engineering Student Association (MTI ITB) held the MTI Idea Lab 2025 exhibition at CC Timur ITB on Saturday (Aug 23, 2025). The exhibition is part of Pabrik MTI 2025, the orientation program for undergraduate students of Industrial Engineering (IE) and Engineering Management (EM) at ITB.

MTI Idea Lab aims to train IE and EM students to address real-world problems. Each issue is first analyzed and then developed into a solution with tangible impact on the surrounding community.

“MTI Idea Lab 2025 was organized to implement the knowledge of IE and EM that has been introduced through Pabrik MTI 2025. Students are expected to identify problems, approach them systematically, analyze root causes, and design effective solutions based on IE and EM principles,” said Putri, committee member of MTI Idea Lab 2025.

One of the featured innovations was TrashWalk, an idea sparked by the waste accumulation issue in Bandung. “The nearest waste collection point to ITB is the Babakan Siliwangi Integrated Waste Management Facility. Our solution includes public education on waste segregation and improvements in waste distribution systems,” explained Darrel, a member of the TrashWalk team.

Student mental health was also highlighted as a critical issue. Mindventure offered a solution through an “escape room”–style workshop featuring four interactive stations, each designed to provide lessons on mental health. “We created Mindventure to help students understand and become more aware of how to manage stress,” said Prasetyo, part of the Mindventure team.

The lively exhibition received positive responses from attendees, including Evan. “Overall, the ideas are creative and engaging. The problems they addressed are relevant, and the solutions presented were impressive,” Evan shared.
