BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Local sportswear brand Tiento took the stage at Entrepreneur Hub ITB 2025, underscoring how a Bandung-born label can help advance Indonesia’s sports industry. Held at ITB Ganesha’s East Hall on 17–18 September 2025, the event brought entrepreneurs and academics together in a dynamic exchange of ideas.

“We aim to help people recognize the importance of an active lifestyle,” said Sandi Aldiansyah Prawira, representing Tiento. “Our vision is to raise public awareness about the value of exercise while providing everything from team uniforms and high-performance apparel to stylish, trend-driven sportswear.”

From Home Garment Shop to International Marathons

Founded in 2013, Tiento started small. “Tiento was originally just a simple garment business with a single store,” Sandi explained. “Today we’ve expanded to several outlets, though our main base remains in Bandung.”

That steady growth has earned Tiento a spot in major running events. “In Bandung, our name is already well known. We’ve supplied gear for races such as the Jakarta International Marathon and Digiland,” he noted.

Independent Production, Imported Materials

Tiento handles most of its manufacturing in-house. “The entire process from stitching to the finished product is done by our own team or in partnership with local garment makers,” Sandi said. However, sourcing fabrics remains a challenge. “We still rely on overseas suppliers because certain specialized materials aren’t yet available in Indonesia.”

This dependence can create supply issues. “Because we don’t produce the fabrics ourselves, stock availability often depends on our suppliers,” he added. Even so, Tiento keeps quality high and prices accessible: “Our products cater to both young people and older customers with versatile designs and a more affordable price point than international brands like Nike or Adidas.”

Collaboration with ITB and the Wider Community

Participating in Entrepreneur Hub ITB has opened doors to academic partnerships. “We are very open to collaborating with ITB or other universities, including supporting community activities by providing jerseys and sportswear,” Sandi said.

Formal research projects are not yet in place, but the company is ready to explore them. “For now our focus is business development, but we welcome the possibility of future academic collaborations,” he added. “If ITB plans to host a running event, we’re ready to take part.

With its innovative drive and commitment to healthy living, Tiento is using Entrepreneur Hub ITB 2025 to broaden its network, engage the campus community, and prove that a local sportswear brand from Bandung can compete on a national and even international stage while staying true to its roots.
