Over 1.800 Students Graduate in ITB’s Second Graduation Ceremony of The 2024/2025 Academic Year

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) once again held the Second Graduation Ceremony of the 2024/2025 Academic Year on Friday-Saturday (April 25-26, 2025) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga) Auditorium. The ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Trustees, the Academic Senate, the Rector, professors, lecturers, administrative staff, parents, and the graduating students. During the ceremony, ITB officially conferred degrees upon 1.877 graduates from its undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
The graduation ceremony was conducted in two sessions: the first session took place on Friday (April 25, 2025), from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB, and the second on Saturday (April 26, 2025), from 08.00-12.00 WIB. The first session included graduates from the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FMAE), Faculty of Industrial Technology (FIT), Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD), Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FCEE), School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPD), and School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI).
Session two included graduates from the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FEST), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMNS), Faculty of Mining and Pertoleum Engineering (FMPE), School of Business and Management (SBM), School of Pharmacy (SP), School of Life Sciences and Technology (SLST), and Graduate School (SPs).
The graduation ceremony began with the reading of the ITB Rector’s official decree on the graduation and academic verdict for the April 2025 period by Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs. According to the decree, as many as 515 graduates are from the undergraduate programs, 1.239 from the master’s programs, and 123 doctoral graduates.
Among the undergraduate graduates, 13 received the highest distinction of summa cum laude, 16 received magna cumlaude, and 53 earned cum laude honors. The gender distribution for undergraduate graduates was 326 male (63%) and 189 female (37%) graduates. The highest GPA among undergraduates was earned by Maria Khelli from the Informatics Engineering Study Program at the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI), with a GPA of 3,94. Meanwhile, the youngest undergraduate graduate was Redjel Haynes from the Visual Art Study Program at the Faculty of Art and Design (FAD), who graduated at the age of 21 years and 8 months.
At the master’s level, ITB honors 123 graduates who achieved summa cum laude, while 78 received magna cum laude, and 200 were awarded cum laude. The gender distribution among master’s graduates was 775 male (63%) and 464 female (37%) graduates. The youngest graduate at this level was Yudhistira Arya Pramaditya from the Development Studies Program at the School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPD), who graduated at 22 years and 6 months.
For the doctoral program, all 123 graduates were awarded their degrees, with 20 receiving summa cum laude, 13 receiving magna cum laude, and 35 graduating with cum laude. The gender distribution was almost equal, with 62 male (51%) and 61 female (49%) graduates. The youngest doctoral graduate was Andi Rina Ayu from the Chemical Engineering Study Program at the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FIT), who graduated at 28 years and 7 months old.
In his speech, ITB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., congratulated the graduates and expressed his hope that they will become the solution to the nation’s challenges and a driving force for progress.
“Amidst your titles and achievements, remain humble. Amidst ambitions, stay compassionate. The world does not need more smart people, but more good people who use their intelligence to help others. In the journey ahead, you will face challenges you may have never imagined. But remember, with every challenge comes an opportunity. Continue to grow–not only in knowledge but also in wisdom. Be a mover, not a bystander. The future belongs to those who dare to dream and take action,” he concluded.
