BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – A team of students from the School of Pharmacy, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SF ITB), has achieved an outstanding international accomplishment. Competing as Team 12A, they claimed first place in the advanced category of the IPSF Industrial Skills Event 2025, held virtually on July 13, 2025, via Zoom.

Team 12A consists of Catharina Keisha Siswanto, Hannaya Putri Rahmadhani, and Edlysia Honesta, all from the Pharmacy Science and Technology program, Class of 2022.

The IPSF Industrial Skills Event is an international competition designed for pharmacy students. This year, participants were challenged to analyze real-world case studies related to the pharmaceutical industry. The final round focused on formulation issues in cosmetic product manufacturing amid the global boom of the beauty industry.

“The theme of the case was cosmetics, and we wanted to apply the knowledge we’ve gained in our coursework to solve the problem presented,” explained Catharina.

In the competition, Team 12A produced a comprehensive pitch deck that offered solutions to the formulation challenge while also presenting marketing strategies to ensure the product could be successfully reintroduced to the market. They identified the root of the problem and proposed a holistic approach that included consumer personas and in-depth market analysis.

The team’s preparation process was rigorous, spanning from the preliminary stage to the finals. “For the preliminary round, we met offline for two days to prepare the proposal. For the finals, we worked on the pitch deck online for three to four days, then dedicated a full day to scripting and presentation rehearsals,” said Hannaya.

Their strategy involved initial individual brainstorming sessions, followed by group discussions. They also paid close attention to the scoring rubric, using it as a guide to align their final output with the jury’s expectations.

According to Catharina, the key to their success was the “uniqueness and thoroughness” of their deck. They even added extra elements, such as consumer persona narratives, to reinforce their proposed solutions. Their engaging delivery style and analytically grounded presentation further distinguished the team.

With this victory, Team 12A not only brought pride to ITB on the international stage but also demonstrated that collaboration, in-depth research, and passion for their field can lead to remarkable achievements.
