BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The atmosphere of Ir. H. Juanda (Dago) Street on Sunday morning, September 21, 2025, became more vibrant with a parade titled "Tapak Meriah." The event, held during the Car Free Day moment, was the final pre-event organized by the Pasar Seni ITB 2025 committee to welcome back the grand art festival after an 11-year hiatus.
The parade, attended by students, lecturers, ITB alumni, and the general public, featured a creative procession that successfully captured the attention of the Bandung community. According to the public relations representative for Pasar Seni ITB, Amanda Wangi Mongan, who is also an ITB Product Design student, the main goal of "Tapak Meriah" was to embrace the concept of a public celebration where the community is not just a spectator but is invited to interact and be part of the event.
“We want to reintroduce art to the community and let them feel the preparations for Pasar Seni," Amanda explained.

One of the main performances in the parade was a theatrical piece titled "Threshold," conceived by Dharmadayna Maliq Prattiwa, an ITB Product Design student. This performance visually represented the grand theme of Pasar Seni ITB 2025: the merging of the real and virtual worlds.
Two groups of characters, Sirotam (representing the natural, real world) and Oris (representing the artificial, virtual world), initially moved in separate spaces before finally merging into one. "This theme was chosen because the line between reality and the virtual world is becoming increasingly blurred. This is a new revolution for humanity, and this issue is very relevant to us now," Amanda said regarding the theme's selection.

All artistic elements in the performance, from the costumes to the accompanying rhythmic musical compositions, were created independently by the students.
Pasar Seni ITB, first held in 1972, is one of the largest art festivals in Southeast Asia. Its last edition was in 2014, and the subsequent edition, which should have been held in 2019, was postponed due to the pandemic.
According to Danish Azwa Vityaputri, the Head of the Digital Production Division, who is also an ITB Product Design student, Pasar Seni 2025 will present a completely new face. "We, the committee, are not people who have experienced the previous Pasar Seni. So, we are truly rebranding what Pasar Seni is in the current era," he said.
Nevertheless, the committee still honors the event's long history. A previous pre-event titled "Kilas Balik" (Flashback) featured an exhibition about the past stagings of Pasar Seni to inspire the student committee members.
